THE ONE SWEET WHIRLED PLAYERS What do you get when you cross an eclectic group of environmental advocates with some innovative ice cream and music makers? You get One Sweet Whirled – a campaign full of influential players, working in concert to tackle the problem of global warming. The One Sweet Whirled campaign urges the public to take action to fight global warming. It encourages people to make a pledge to reduce their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2,000 pounds through simple, easy actions, including sending political messages to Congress about the need for efficiency legislation and increased renewables (such as wind and solar power). Shedding 2,000 pounds represents about a five percent reduction in the average American’s annual emissions. The key players in the One Sweet Whirled campaign are Dave Matthews Band, SaveOurEnvironment.org and Ben & Jerry’s. Together, they are using their voices to send a strong message to the public about simple actions everyone can take to make a real difference in slowing global warming. Now, here’s a little background on the members of this special partnership. Dave Matthews Band The Dave Matthews Band is honored to partner with Ben & Jerry’s and SaveOurEnvironment.org to help slow global warming. As long-time supporters of critical social issues, they are happy to lend their environmental song, “One Sweet World,” to the campaign and the flavor. The Band recently finished up in the studio (with an album coming out in mid-summer) and is currently gearing up for their 2002 Tour, which launches on April 4th in Washington, D.C. Like Ben & Jerry’s, the Dave Matthews Band is strongly committed to environmental and social issues, both through grass-roots support and its own Bama Works Foundation (www.bamaworks.com). The One Sweet Whirled campaign hits the road with the 2002 DMB tour, with an interactive exhibit designed to educate fans nationwide about practical solutions to global warming. SaveOurEnvironment.org SaveOurEnvironment.org is a coalition of the nation’s most influential environmental advocacy organizations harnessing the power of the internet to increase public awareness and activism on today’s most important environmental issues. Participating groups include:

Contributions made via the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation in 2001 totaled over $1.4 million. The purpose of Ben & Jerry’s philanthropy is to support the founding values of the company, economic and social justice, environmental restoration and peace through understanding. The Company supports projects which are models for social change – projects which exhibit creative problem-solving and hopefulness. Continuing a tradition of social advocacy, Ben & Jerry’s has teamed up with the Dave Matthews Band and the nation’s most influential environmental advocacy groups to help fight global warming by encouraging people to take simple, easy actions to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions and share those commitments in political messages to Congress. Together, they’ve created Dave Matthews Band One Sweet Whirled, a rockin’ new flavor that debuts this spring. A portion of every sale will go to Dave Matthews Band’s Bama Works Foundation and on to support global warming initiatives.
